Welcome to the online home of St. John’s
Episcopal Church, Congaree, in Hopkins, South
Carolina. Our church, which was founded in 1858,
is located on Elm Savannah Road near McEntire
Air National Guard Base, 12 miles southeast of
Columbia. St. John’s is part of the Upper
Diocese of South Carolina and the Episcopal
Church.
We are traditional in worship, friendly, open,
caring, nurturing, and family centered. We are
committed to witnessing to our Lord Jesus Christ
and to growing spiritually through prayer,
study, fellowship, and service. As a community
called together in Christ, we seek to extend
Christian hospitality and welcome to all who
come here and desire to know God.
Each of us brings unique abilities and gifts to
